VERNISSAGE
Krousis
Krousis
Holger Denckmann, Vibraphone
Alexander Kohrs, Piano
The term "Krousis" comes from ancient Greece, or more precisely from Sparta. It describes the phase of the fight in which two opposing Phalanges met directly across their front lines. Nowadays "Krousis" is used as a term for "stop" or "impulse".
Krousis also refers to the stroke that makes both the vibraphone and the strings of the piano resonate. Thus, the name Krousis Duo. Alexander Kohrs and Holger Denckmann know how to create a common "sound". Improvisations, virtuosic unison passages, emotional, floating sounds, percussive and rhythmic elements - all this is what the young duo‘s world of sound has to offer. The precision in their interaction and the energy within the music is comparable to the strong cohesion and impenetrable power of a phalanx.
Recorded 2011 / Audio CD, 57 minutes / Catalog No.: CM10111
