TRAVELLING THOUGHTS

"TRAVELLING THOUGHTS may be understood as “thoughts about travelling” or “thoughts while travelling”. But the experience of my thoughts beginning a journey of their own, losing focus and merging into daydreams was the starting point for this composition. It opens with a motoric element, like the vehicle with which one travels. Increasingly interrupted by fantasies, this is finally replaced by ever-new feelings and ideas, from fierce and vivacious to dreamy and tender.
All signs of musical expression, like dynamics and character, are to be read as mere suggestions from my personal perspective at this point in time. They should be changed where felt necessary, allowing for the player’s own interpretations and associations with the melodic material."
