IN SPACE is a piece for marimba and playback tape, which combines modern spherical sounds and electronic beats with the classic mallet instrument. At the beginning there is a short cadenza, which turns into a hip-hop-like beat, introducing a long build-up to the main part. This main part contains some electronic elements and is reminiscent of a driving drum n bass beat.
IN SPACE is intended to be a change for the lessons and to show in a motivating way how versatile even a classical mallet instrument can be used.
